With the hoisting of the Giant-sized National Flag in the capital, various parties in the country held a Flag Hoisting Ceremony to further enliven the 42nd Brunei Darussalam National Day celebration. The Scouts Association of Brunei Darussalam held a similar ceremony. It took place in front of the Association's Headquarters Building, 15th February morning.

Present were Awang Haji Junaidi bin Haji Hussin, Chief Commissioner of Scouts; and, Pengiran Doctor Awang Haji Muhammad bin Pengiran Damit, Vice President of the association. The event included a Talk in conjunction with the National Day Celebration titled "Menghargai Kemerdekaan Negara". The program aimed to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, especially among youth as an important foundation for national development.
